Speeding up to spiral down
What have I done? Let you down
Turn that smile to a frown
Speeding up to spiral down
Crazy but silent she stared into my eyes,
But I couldn’t figure out what she wanted to see,
So I just stared back and
Waited until she made her move.
She drew breath in and the sky grew dark
And suddenly I noticed
The storm engulfing me.
Neuron activity in my f-MRI
Reminds me of times when I studied my head off.
It nearly exploded from sounds all around
And I couldn’t get out of this goddamn town
Quick enough to see the fires that burned
And spurned. My eyelids closed.
The smell of burnt rubber and gasoline
Makes me want to fall asleep
And I still miss fresh-cut grass in my backyard
But those times never last.
